  "description": "Fieldcast turns documents into structured JSON in a single API call. The caller sends a PDF or raw text together with a list of field names, and receives exactly those fields back as typed JSON: numbers as numbers, dates normalised to ISO-8601. A field that does not appear in the document is returned as null rather than a fabricated value, which is the design choice that makes it safe for accounting and finance workflows. There are no templates to configure and no model to select, so a document layout nobody has seen before goes through the same call as a familiar one. Agents can call the standard API-key endpoint, or the x402 endpoint which requires no account: the agent receives HTTP 402 with machine-readable payment terms, settles in USDC, and gets the extraction in the same flow.
