Treats transaction batches like grain milling, measuring how finely transactions are broken down and recombined, predicting throughput based on grinding coarseness and adjusting batch size to maximize millstone utilization without jamming. Never allows mortar-and-pestle (individual) transactions when quern (batch) processing is efficient.
